7 Easy Indian Food Recipes For The Holidays
The holidays are a time to surround yourself with loved ones, forget the past year’s worries, and remind yourself of all that you’re grateful for.
Oh, and it’s a time for enjoying incredible, unforgettable food.
Set aside your fruitcake and break out your recipe books because we’ve compiled seven of our favorite Indian food recipes to help you become the star of the holidays.
From fruity cheese spreads to spiced veggies to smoky turkey, you’ll find it easier to serve up delicious dish after dish.
1. Mango Chutney Baked Brie
Cheese and chutney — it’s a match made in heaven.
Spice up your ordinary cheese and cracker spread with Sukhi’s Mango Chutney Baked Brie. This recipe combines our signature Mango Chutney with a small round of milky French cheese to become your new favorite snack pairing.
Brie ascends to new heights when lathered in the fruity yet, savory tang of this chutney. Mango, ginger, and Indian spices unfurl in toasty layers with each new bite, perfectly designed to accentuate a great brie’s nutty, creamy flavors.
It’s simple, scrumptious, and only the beginning of our holiday recipe extravaganza.
2. Chicken Tikka Masala Pastry Bites
Alright, you’ve served up the Mango Chutney Baked Brie, and it’s certainly a hit, but you can tell more hunger is just around the corner.
The antidote — Chicken Tikka Masala Pastry Bites.
This recipe combines our classic Chicken Tikka Masala with rolled puff pastry to create a legendary snack recipe that is sure to please.
Open up a package of our Sukhi’s Chicken Tikka Masala and combine it with diced red onion and red bell pepper for crunchy, fresh flavor. Then, add a spoonful of the delicious chicken tikka mixture to each square of puff pastry dough.
Pinch opposite corners together… pop them in the oven at 400° F, and in less than twenty minutes, you’ll have a mouthwatering chicken tikka snack.
Eat all on their own or serve with your favorite chutney recipe.
3. Spicy Vindaloo Turkey Lasagna Cups
Who knew this much goodness could fit in a single cup?
Oh, yeah — we did.
Sukhi’s Vindaloo Indian Curry Sauce underscores every bite of our personal-size turkey lasagna cups. Rich and meaty ground turkey soaks the vindaloo’s caramelized onion flavor and bright, garlic-infused pasta sauce.
Sprinkle in three different kinds of cheese — gooey ricotta, savory parmesan, and classic shredded — wrap everything up in a neat Wonton, and bake at high heat.
Cue culinary perfection.
Once you’ve soaked in the gooey sights and the saliva-inducing smells, all that’s left to do is open your mouth and enjoy!
4. Tandoori Crusted Turkey
Set your stuffing aside and exchange it for a real show-stopper.
Our Tandoori Crusted Turkey builds upon three packets of Sukhi’s Tandoori Marinade to complete a Thanksgiving bird bursting with a smoky flavor.
Sukhi’s North Indian-inspired spice blend incorporates tangy herbs and garlic to let your turkey soar. If you’re worried about your turkey drying out, let’s allay your fears. Healthy servings of ghee (clarified butter) and quartered oranges ensure each bite of white or dark meat is mouthwatering and juicy.
This recipe is designed to take center stage, so don’t deprive it of the spotlight. Make it the main course at your next holiday feast, and watch as friends and family marvel at your cooking prowess.
Don’t be afraid to take the credit — you deserve it. Just let them know it was our smoky Tandoori Marinade that made it happen.
5. Roasted Pumpkin Coconut Curry
Gourd season isn’t just for Pumpkin Spiced Lattes and Jack O’Lanterns.
Our Roasted Pumpkin Coconut Curry is an exceptional choice for warming you up on any autumn or wintry evening.
Bite-size cubes of pumpkin and cauliflower are a tasty match for our vibrant Coconut Curry Sauce. Balanced beautifully between heat and acidity, this recipe boasts just enough spice to keep you cozy as it is calmed with the creaminess of coconut milk.
Serve this curry as a side dish over a steaming bed of basmati or lemon rice. If you want even more flavor, don’t be afraid to add a scoop of our Mango Chutney.
6. Vindaloo Roasted Brussels Sprouts
This one is for the picky eaters out there.
Brussels Sprouts aren’t exactly a staple of holiday eating (unlike green beans) due to their polarizing nature. Some love their leafy, slightly bitter taste, while others can’t stand it.
At Sukhi’s, we love making healthy eating not only convenient but also delicious, too. We’ve done exactly that with this Vindaloo Roasted Brussels Sprouts recipe.
In this dish, Brussels sprouts take a warm bath made up of creamy Greek yogurt and our rich, aromatic Vindaloo Indian Curry. This infuses it with a rainbow of flavors, including caramelized onions and half a dozen Indian spices.
After roasting for forty minutes or so, the sprouts are fully crispy and delicious, making them the perfect side dish to show the young ones how tasty, healthy eating can really be.
7. Chai Spice Doughnuts
After all is said and done, you can’t quite call it a holiday season without some autumnal, wintry desserts to finish it off.
And nothing will satisfy your sweet tooth after a long night of cooking and catering like our Chai Spice Doughnuts.
This dessert (or brunch) recipe combines a delicious doughnut base with classic Indian spices like ginger, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, and cardamom.
Depending on your pasty preferences, add icing or sugar coating for an extra layer of sweetness and spice.
Serve up these Chai spice doughnuts with a piping-hot mug of decaf chai or coffee to further emphasize the doughnut’s sweetness. Once you’ve finished yours, pop the leftovers in the fridge and enjoy tomorrow morning for a well-deserved treat for all your hard work.
The Recipes Don’t Stop Here
The holiday season is a time to sit back, relax, and enjoy catching up with friends and family.
You can let them know how much you care with these delicious holiday treats. Chances are, you might be asked to whip up some new mouthwatering dishes at your next big gathering.
Fortunately, this list covers only a fraction of Sukhi’s simple, scintillating recipes for every occasion.
