What is Curry?
Although ‘curry’ is commonly associated with a type of flavor, it actually means ‘gravy or sauce.’ Curry is bursting with flavor and has a beautifully aromatic and familiar scent. While the where and when of curry is uncertain, it can be traced back to 2500 BCE from Mohenjo-Daro. There are so many varieties of curry that it would take a long while to list them out, but don’t worry – we’ve listed some of the more popular ones in our Comprehensive Curry Guide that also discusses the difference between curry and curry powder.
Cold Curry Chicken Salad:
A quick and easy lunch or dinner option, it’s no surprise that chicken salad is somewhat of a staple in American cuisine. There’s no one person to thank for the invention of chicken salad, but it’s said that the first version was created in China.
The notion of cold chicken might have been a strange one at first, but it has The Queen’s stamp of approval. A creation by Le Cordon Bleu London, ‘Poulet Reine Elizabeth,’ or Coronation Chicken, was served at Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation luncheon in 1953. The meal was sensational and well-received, consisting of young roasting chickens, carrots, a collected bunch of herbs, salt, peppercorns, and cream of curry sauce. So, while the exact origin is somewhat unknown, one thing remains certain – curry chicken salad is here to stay!

Don’t you love sauces that are ready in a jif? Us too! That’s what we kept in mind when creating our Classic Indian Curry Sauce. This traditional curry sauce has those essential spices that give you all of the complexities of Indian cuisine. It’s gluten-free and adds a medium spiciness to any Indian dish or pasta.
This pre-made curry sauce is super quick and easy to make, which is why we love using this in our Curry Chicken Salad! Rich, curry taste in hardly any time at all. That’s the dream, right?
Sweet and Spicy
Speaking of convenience without compromising flavor, our Curry Chicken Salad also incorporates our Mango Chutney.
